Your faith will be like gold that has been tested in a fire. And these trials will prove that your faith is worth much more than gold that can be destroyed. They will show that you will be given praise and honor and glory when Jesus Christ returns. (1 Peter 1:7 CEV)
We cannot be acceptable to God if we do not have faith. The purpose of our faith is the salvation of our soul. Our soul is more important than our flesh. In fact, even if you are the richest man on the planet but your soul is lost in darkness and destined to perish in hell because of sins, you gain nothing. Your wealth cannot save you. That is why faith is so important and it is more precious than gold. Like gold, our faith is purified when we undergo a series of trials. Trials are tests given by God for our benefit, which then make us perfect Christians. We are firmly established in Christ when we pass the tests. When we are perfected, we shall be rewarded by Christ. We shall be given rewards in this life and the everlasting life as well. This is our living hope when Christ returns, that we shall be with Him wherever He is for all eternity.
