It is the first day of the Year of Increase as God declared it to be so. He wants to give us an increase. You hope for it, don’t you? Yes, we all want to increase in so many things and so many ways. Our desire to grow and prosper comes especially during the start of the year. We want our- selves and our loved ones to have good health, good life and good fortune as well. We start the year with fresh hopes for increase in income, investments and the like. We also wish to grow our relationships with others to be more intimate. These are good and should be desired, but there is another thing that we should desire more— the treasures in heaven. They are genuine wealth that can give you greater and lasting happiness. So, gather yourself treasures that cannot be stolen and destroyed. Earthly treasures only last for a lifetime. You cannot bring them in the afterlife. These treasures are your good deeds, acts of obedience to God. These righteous acts and your service to Him make you rich with godliness or holiness. God said they are profitable not only in this life but also in the life to come. WALK GODLY and gather GOLD DUSTS along the way. I pray that all of us be rich this year.
