By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.
Hebrews 11:7 NKJV
Our faith is our confidence that what God said will happen. We are firm in our belief that what He promised which we hoped for will come to pass. It is also our conviction that what He said is true. Even if we did not witness the things of the past such as the creation of the world, etc., we strongly believe because God said so. Our faith should move us to action. Faith without work is dead. Faith that works is what we should have as exemplified by Noah. Noah fully believed that God will really destroy life on earth by a great flood. That it will rain 40 days and 40 nights. During that time, the earth did not experience rain yet. But Noah believed. Through his faith, he built the Ark according to God’s design although he did not know anything about ship-building. Because of his faith, he saved his whole family and was declared righteous by God Himself. Let our faith move us to work according to God’s design. If we do, God will be pleased to acknowledge our faithfulness and be declared righteous in His own eyes.
