And delivered righteous Lot, who was oppressed by the filthy conduct of the wicked (for that righteous man, dwelling among them, tormented his righteous soul from day to day by seeing and hearing their lawless deeds). (2 Peter 2:7-8 NKJV)
We are the light in this world of darkness. People are living in sin because the devil has blinded the eyes of their heart, for them not to see the light of Christ’s glory. That is why many remain in their wrong doings even though we preach them the words of God. For them, telling them the truth is equivalent to taking away their right to be happy. There are some who would even shame you for correcting them. That is why the righteous fear to stand for what they know is right; for what they know is the will of God. But fear not because God will always deliver you from your oppressors. Out of love, do not be scared to tell the truth and stand for what you believe in. Although God has sent us like sheep in the midst of wolves, we should not fear. We should not even worry about how or what we should speak. For in that hour, we will be given what we should speak of. He will never leave us if we will stand with Him. Let us be holy and gentle, children of God without sin in a twisted and foolish generation, among whom we are seen as lights in the world. Always let others see us behaving properly, even though they may still accuse us of doing wrong. Then on the day of judgment, they will honor God by telling the good things they saw we do.
