“I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more bless- ed to give than to receive.’” (Acts 20:35 NKJV)
Do you remember in your childhood days when our elders throw coins or candies and we struggle to get more coins or candies? That was what our immature or childish thoughts were. We wanted to get more for or our own benefit. The more we get the happier we were. Those who got less were less happy. However, as we grow older, we learn to share what we have. We learn to sacrifice for our little brother or sister. We become selfless rather than selfish. Christ has shown us this great character of loving and sacrificing for the sake of others. He gave His all, His life for us. You cannot give what you do not have. If you love someone, you are willing to give in proportion of your love. Meaning if you really love someone you are willing to give even your life. Someone has said, “You can give without loving, but you cannot love without giving.” Giving is proof of our confidence of our being good stewards of God’s blessings and that God will provide for our needs. We are blessed to bless others.
