And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness. (Acts 4:31 NKJV)
When the Church of the first century started to evangelize their fellow countrymen, they were threatened by the Jews. They were put to prison, suffering a lot for the sake of the Gospel. With one accord, they lifted up their voice to God asking for boldness to speak for Christ.
Fervent prayer unlocks the door for God to make things happen that, to us, is impossible to do. As proof that God heard their prayers, the place where they were shaken so that they could boldly preach the Word of Salvation. God poured out the greatness of His spirit. Today, there might also be opposing powers against our mission to send the Word of God, here and abroad. It could be the system of a particular country where we wish to advance the Kingdom of Christ. Prayer makes us partners with God. Prayer is an invitation for the Holy Spirit. With unity in faith and intense heartfelt prayers, let us ask God to lead us and enable us to speak the Word of God with boldness. What we seek, we shall find. God will direct us if we seek to spread the Good News to mankind. Bless the Lord.
