The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord,
And He delights in his way.
Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down;
For the Lord upholds him with His hand. (Psalms 37:23-24 NKJV)
We all experienced mild bumps, cuts, and bruises in our childhood days. We play-fight, wrestle, and others. Of course, we stumble and fall, but we definitely get up immediately and with a smile, we return to the game with one thing in mind: to win. Though, some of our playmates, or maybe us, become upset when they fall; frowning and leaving the game in a tantrum. We are no longer kids. We should no longer be careless, as we were in our childhood. We are now dealing with a spiritual fight and wrestling of faith. Our opponent is not a playmate. Satan is our true adversary, causing obstacles and stumbling blocks to make us fall. “Mind the gap” and “watch your step” are reminders of concern to anyone who uses the escalator or when riding the train. Likewise, we should be watchful in our steps as Christians. Let us be careful in making decisions and choices. There may be times that we need to take one step backward, but be sure to take two step forwards. Drawing back is not in the vocabulary of every righteous man. Do not fall back, as if we cannot get up! Fall on your knees, but do not fall on your faith! Pray and listen to what our God says, “I will never abandon you or leave you!”
