Therefore, putting away lying, “Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another. (Ephesians 4:25 NKJV)

We are members of only one body. As such, we belong to each other, members of one another. We have a solemn duty to care for each other. As the body of Christ, we have to minister to one another. One of our most important duties to one another is to NOT LIE to one another. We are to speak the truth with love. Consider that the body is walking. When the eye sees that there is a deep hole along the path, will it lie and not tell the truth to the body, especially the foot? If the eye lies, the whole body will get hurt. In the same way, will the foot not tell the truth if it feels that the ground it is stepping on is shaky and poses a danger to the body? In the same breath, lying is forbidden in the body of Christ. We say what is true, but how do we say the truth? Can we be brutally frank, without regarding the feelings of others? Do we just say the truth whatever way we want to say them? Do not be inconsiderate. Do not be tactless. Say the truth with utmost care and love for one another. We converse our thoughts, feelings, ideas, and opinions even in social media – what and how do we express them? Does it solicit hatred or love? Remember our words tell who we are. They reveal our true worth – our true self. We are Christians, the true followers of Christ. Take time to tell the truth in love. Tell them about the love of our Lord Jesus Christ. Tell them now!
