For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it. (Mark 8:35 NKJV)

All of us desire a better life. Most people believe that what they get out of life will bring them a happy and enjoyable life. They strive to have a good education, stable job, a loving relationship, good health, and wealth. There is nothing wrong with this, as King Solomon tells us so, “The best thing that I myself have seen, which is pretty, is that one should eat and drink and see good for all his hard work with which he works hard under the sun for the number of the days of his life that the God has given him.” He is telling us of the life under the sun, meaning the life on earth. We have to understand that there is another life above the sun. It is the life to come after our life on earth. “Our life on earth offers many choices, but eternity offers only two: heaven or hell. Your relationship to God on earth will determine your relationship to him in eternity.” Rest assured that if we give life in full service to the giver of life, He will give us a prosperous and abundant life, here and on the life after, in our homeland which is the heaven.
