Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. (James 4:8 NKJV)
Let us reflect once again about the parable of The Prodigal Son. The most intense, exciting, and important point of the parable is when he returned home to his father. While he was still a long way from home, his father saw him. His heart was filled with pity and he ran, threw his arms around his son, and kissed him. He did not shut the door of his heart against his son or shooed him away. Instead, the father welcomed his return in their home. He did not criticize his son; instead, he announced a festival and not disapproval. In real life, it is true that our biological parents love us despite our mistakes. However, it does not mean they will not teach us how to have the finest out of life. How much more with our Spiritual Father? Even when we fall back from our trust and faith in Him; when we doubt and pleasure of sins hold us away from God; the Holy Bible tells us, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” God will forgive us; He surely will. When He does, let us ask God for wisdom to not to repeat those mistakes in life all over again. Pray for His guidance to grow into a faithful and an overcomer child of God.
