He who covers his sins will not prosper,
But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy. (Proverbs 28:13 NKJV)

Be holy for our Father in heaven is holy. This is a commandment of our God that we should do. Living in holiness means leaving our sins behind and continuing to live by the will of God. Our Most High God, Christ Jesus, came down to earth to forgive our sins. What we need to do is to be humble before Him and receive His mercy. There is no use in covering up for our sins and mistakes; we are Christians and Christians should not be self-righteous people. It would not be of help at all. Pride will not push us forward, but rather, set us back. It would hinder us to see our full potential as servants of God. There is nothing wrong in confessing our sins and mistakes. Actually, it is the first step we should take in order for us to live in holiness and reach spiritual perfection. So, saying “I am sorry” is nothing to be ashamed of especially when we commit sins or mistakes against anybody, especially to God. However, we should not get accustomed to apologizing every time. We should learn how to repent and completely leave our worldly attitude, feelings, and desires. Step forward! Leave an act of sin behind and practice an act of holiness, one at a time. Do this continuously until we reach spiritual perfection. Always be humble and we will experience God’s Agape and mercy that will help us along the way.
