For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body. (James 3:2 NKJV)

There is a saying, “When you have nothing good to say, don’t say it at all.” We are taught to be careful in our thoughts, words, and deeds. Our language is the truth. We speak the truth in love. Most people speak their minds without regarding the feelings of others and what the outcome will be. We must think of what we are to say and how and when to say them. We have control over our unspoken words. We have the power to say them or not. We are the masters of our thoughts and words. However, after we have spoken them, we are bound by them. They become our responsibility. We are accountable for what we say. As Children of God, our words should glorify Him. We must declare His truth that brings comfort and blessings to those who hear. Unfortunately, the language used by of the world consists of lies. Facebook, twitter, and others show how hurtful words can become. They cause brokenness in people’s hearts and minds. Gossips, debates, hatred, and the like bring no benefit to anybody. Instead, they bring divisions and sadness. We are not to participate in such activities, rather focus ourselves in expressing our love to everyone. Our maturity shows in the way we think, speak, and act.
