Trust in the Lord, and do good;
Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. (Psalms 37:3 NKJV)
It is impossible to please God without faith. Faith is our trust and confidence in Him. By faith, we obey God’s words. His words are holy, just and good. By hearing and doing His words with faith, we become godly, just, and good. It is not of our own doing, but through faith in Him, that we are strengthened to do will and to do. If we continue to obey, we grow in faith and come nearer to the image of God who is holy, just, and good, until we partake of His glory. Godliness is properly done in the House of God, in the land of the upright. This Holy Land is not physical but spiritual. It is the Church, His Holy Nation, the land where the chosen people of God dwells. It is the Land of Promise, a place “flowing with milk and honey”. God’s Covenant of Love has been written to bless His people. God is faithful to His promises. Nowhere can we find the Covenant Blessings but in His Church. It is otherwise called the Kingdom of God which is present and is to come in its fullness. Do not leave the Church in exchange for life in the world. Do not be deceived by the glitter and pleasures of the world. They are not genuine! Real pleasures come from God. He will faithfully give us the necessities of life. Man does not live by bread and water alone but with the Words of God. Christ is our bread and water of true life. If partake of Him, we will enjoy true life forever. Let us ask only one thing as David did, that we may dwell in the House of the Lord forever and see the beauty of His holiness.
