He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much. (Luke 16:10 NKJV)
The riches of this world do not last forever. They are destroyed by pests and rusts; lost from thieves and from disasters that occur unexpectedly. The most grievous evil that can happen to anyone is when all the wealth he labored on so much in his lifetime is lost and that no one can enjoy them, neither him nor his children. Be reminded that God is the source of everything we have. We came to this world naked, and the same way we came, we shall depart with nothing to bring from this world. We are just stewards of the things that we have. We are to use them properly according to the reason they were given to us, for safe keeping. Use them to finance your needs and for your enjoyment. They are not given to make you fall into sins. “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.” Be faithful stewards with what you have and God will prosper you more and more, that He may be glorified by your faithfulness. When we are faithful stewards in and of this life, we shall be rewarded with greater blessings, which are the things of heaven and of the life in heaven. Lay up for ourselves the true riches of heaven by being faithful stewards of the things God has given us.
