For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s. (1 Corinthians 6:20 NKJV)
All things were created for the sole purpose of glorifying God. Since we are His creation, our supreme purpose is to give Him the glory. In addition to that, we were redeemed by Christ with His blood. We are supposed to suffer the punishment of eternal death due to our sins. As slaves of sin, we were paid in full. He owns us. He not only created us, He also paid for us which should compel us to glorify Him. We are indebted to Him. Knowing that we were saved from eternal punishment in hell and the promise of eternal life in heaven should give us the motivation to glorify Him. How do we glorify Him? We should praise Him without ceasing. We praise Him with songs of praises, thanksgiving, and prayers. We magnify His name in the congregation of the saints by declaring His wonderful works and providential blessings. We worship Him in Spirit and in truth. That is not all. We should be obedient to His commands and serve Him faithfully. Offering our bodies as living sacrifices to Him – greatly honors and blesses God. Endeavor to please God by using our bodies as instruments of godliness rather than as instruments of sins.
