Now also when I am old and grayheaded,
O God, do not forsake me,
Until I declare Your strength to this generation,
Your power to everyone who is to come. (Psalm 71:18 NKJV)

David, was a young shepherd who took care of his father’s flock, was trained in the field fighting bears and lions to become a great warrior, and finally King of Israel. He was a man God, sought after His own heart. He was a great Servant of God, always seeking God’s glory in all of His works. The whole book of Psalms is devoted in praising and exalting God. In the sunset of his life, he testified that God cares for His servants: “I was young and now I am old I have never seen the godly forsaken.” He knew that in His old age, if He keeps on serving and trusting God, he will not be forsaken. He will be given the best years of his life even in his old age. “And so David rest with his fathers. He had reigned 40 years over Israel and Solomon his son sat on his throne and his rule was firmly established.” He proclaimed the glory of God in his generation. It was a legacy which until now is being remembered. How do you want to be remembered after we pass in this lifetime? What legacy will you leave in your generation? Like David, we should strive to proclaim the glory of the Most High God in this generation, wherever we are in this present world. In death, there will be no more works and no more words that can be done nor said. Do your best to glorify God. Speak your best to exalt the Lord.
