Wait for the Lord;
be strong, and let your heart take courage;
wait for the Lord! (Psalm 27:14 NRSV)
While we are in this world, we experience different difficulties and sufferings. We have burdens that may stop us from serving the Lord. Like the journey of Israel. They walked through hot sand, the excruciating heat of the sun, lack of water, absence of trees, scarcity of food, and more. None of them will survive. Everyone may die right there and then. But the Lord, by His mercy, became a pillar of cloud to shade them from the heat. He became a pillar of fire to give them warmth and light in the cold dark night. He was also the rock where sweet water springs to give them drink. He gave them bread from heaven and victories in all their battles. Likewise, in our time, we survive through all sufferings because of the Lord. We experience His abundant kindness. He answers our prayers in due time as a fulfillment of His promises. It is wise to wait for the Lord. It pleases Him to bless us. He cares for us endlessly. Although we cannot see how God prepares all the things that we need, we still hope that He will give them in our time of need.
