When Gideon came to the Jordan, he and the three hundred men who were with him crossed over, exhausted but still in pursuit. (Judges 8:4 NKJV)
To fully achieve victory over the Midianites, Gideon and his 300 men went to pursue the enemies and crossed over the Jordan even when they were exhausted and tired. Likewise, we are to go on in our mission and in doing our Christian duties even if we feel we are tired and weary. If we focus on our goal of bringing fruits of righteousness and of converted souls as acceptable offerings to God, it will make us do more and to last for another hour, another day, month and even years. Though the flesh is weak, the spirit is regenerated knowing that victory is at hand. Jesus did the same. He suffered yet he endured the cross with joy and in the end said, “It is finished.” Faithfulness is not neglecting and turning back from our Christian duties. It is about doing them especially in the face of all sufferings and hindrances. Are you getting tired of going to Church, of hearing the sermons, of going out to the mission field, of giving to the Church, of serving the saints, of forgiving? Beloved, do not stop, do not turn back. Together, let us cross over for another victory even if we are tired. Let us endure to the end for our sake, for the sake of those who need salvation and for the sake of the glory of God.
