Whether it is pleasing or displeasing, we will obey the voice of the Lord our God to whom we send you, that it may be well with us when we obey the voice of the Lord our God. (Jeremiah 42:6 NKJV)
Obedience to God mean total surrender to His will. It is all or nothing. Trust is the keyword. Whether we like it or now, whether we disagree or not, or whether it is advantageous or disadvantageous to us, we have to obey His commands. Our opinion does not matter in doing God’s will. When God says so, we have to obey. We have no choice because He is God. We cannot question Him about His command. Our duty is to obey. If we fully obey Him, we will not be harmed. Know that God is all-knowing, loving, and caring for those who obey. If we disobey Him, He will punish us because He is a just God. Disobedience is a sin. It means we do not trust Him and think we know better than Him. It is a fearful thing to disobey God. We cannot escape from His vengeance. We will have no peace wherever we will go. His anger will follow us and will haunt us all the days of our lives but God is merciful. Mend our ways and start following Him. We will not go astray. He will lead us to a land of peace and prosperity for us to enjoy forever.
