Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite to this day, because he wholly followed the Lord God of Israel. (Joshua 14:14 NKJV)
Blessings succeed obedience. Caleb was rewarded for his obedience to God. He was one of those who came out of Egypt and was one the two (the other was Joshua) to reach the Promised Land, since the rest died in the desert because of their disobedience to God. God has promised us blessings. He wants all of us to be partakers of His unlimited wealth. However, it depends on how much we trust Him. To trust someone is to have full knowledge of that someone. You will not fully know someone if you do not have a close relationship with them. There has to be an intimate relationship bonded by love to really, truly love someone. If we love God, we can fully trust Him and whatever He says. Without a doubt, we obey Him and Caleb is an example we should imitate. Let us be sincere in loving God. Follow Him faithfully with all our heart, mind, soul, and spirit. If we do, our hopes will be fulfilled. God will grant us us the promised blessings for us to enjoy. Hebron was claimed as Caleb’s inheritance because of his obedience. Hebron signifies a fellowship or relationship with God. This is our heart’s desire to experience the God of peace, love, and kindness. Be with God ad receive His blessings.
