Let Us Pray No. 352

  • December 18, 2023

But you shall be named the priests of the LORD, They shall call you the servants of our God. You shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, And in their glory you shall boast. (Isaiah 61:6 NKJV)

Abba, Lord God, King Most High, You endured great pain, suffering, and shame just to give us comfort, peace, and honor. You called us to be members of Your body, so we may take part in upholding Your mission to preach the word of salvation to all nations. Our greatest desire is to glorify You in our lives. May we remain faithful even if people persecute us for upholding our most holy faith. We are deprived of many things giving joy to the flesh, for the sake of upholding the holiness You taught us. Surely, we will greatly suffer for the sake of Your name. However, we know You have prepared a reward for us at the end of all this—a reward none has ever received nor achieved. You promised that if we will remain faithful until the end, we will reign with You all over the world for a thousand years. No person ever lived for a thousand years and no such king ruled over all the nations. But You promised us to enjoy both before You take us up to heaven to live eternally. Our prayer, oh, Lord, is to help us always set our minds on Your promises. May we not be distracted when the waters are disturbed by great waves. May we always keep our eyes on the glory waiting for us, so we will never depart from Your righteous path, no matter the tribulation we may suffer in this life. We know You will be with us and grant all these things we pray in your name. Amen.
