So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him. (Colossians 2:6 NIV)
Christ in us is our only hope of glory. He works in us, to will and to do. He is the power within us that we are able to subdue our carnal self to now live in Spirit. The process that every true disciple of Christ undergoes to attain perfection starts in receiving Him. Through faith, we were able to come near Him. It was an amazing spiritual encounter. We had inner peace and happiness. This is an initial work of grace by Christ. He set us free from sin. He washed us with His blood, and through baptism we entered into a Covenant of Love with Him – to love and to serve Him forever, which is our part of the Covenant. It is walking in faith in the path of righteousness. The Spirit of Christ in us transforms us. Our mind, body, and soul become that of Christ’s. He is the excellent pattern for us to reach perfection. What He started in us, He will finish. We have to do our part of the work. It is a difficult journey to attain the perfect image of Christ, but it will all be worth it if we persevere. We shall enjoy the fruit of the Spirit and finally, we grow and build-up ourselves to become perfect Sons and Daughters of Christ who will inherit the glory and honor to live in heaven for all eternity.
