“Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” Ephesians 5:17
Abba, our Father, you entrusted us the life we have and you expect us to use our time wisely and godly. Our physical life could be short or long but we know it’s not the years in our life but the life in our years that counts. The way we spend the days you are giving us is what really matters. If we will give account for every word we speak, how much more for the time we wasted that should be spent in the holiness of our lives. Lord, we don’t exactly know what will happen on the next day. It is only you who knows what lies ahead of us in this world that gets more perverse each day. While we have the time, may you find us speaking words of love and affection to the people we love even to those who cannot love us back. Help us to do well in whatever our hands find to do especially those that would give you glory and honor. Give us the wisdom that though we bear sufferings for the sake of our faith, it will only be for a little while and we shall soon have the crown of life forever and ever with you. Amen.
