“And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here in fear.” 1 Peter 1:17
Abba, our Father, the world’s present condition is turning perversely away from you. The ungodly have fears that keep them away from you. These are the fear of death, fear of bankruptcy and many alike that bring human mind into a lifetime of bondage. You commanded us not to fear what they fear. Everything on earth has its end. Nothing lasts forever. We came to this world without anything. We will soon leave and will take nothing. We know that what we have now will only matter by what we become. Lord, help us to consume our life wisely. Help us not to worry from running out of any material things when it comes to doing our religious duties. What we are afraid of is to not be able to store up treasures of holiness. So Lord, while we have the strength, help us and allow us to do things that could glorify you. We delight to please you by our obedience for nothing is pleasurable to you than seeing us in subservient spirit. Enable us to leave traces of holiness that could lead others to join with us in praising and worshipping you with great awe. Amen.
