For the word of the king is powerful, and who can say to him, “What are you doing?” (Ecclesiastes 8:4 NRSV)
The Lord God is all sovereign who consults to nobody and decides on His own. He is a just and righteous Ruler. His words are commands that must be obeyed by all men. His words are alive and active, they have inherent power to perform. By His words, God created all things in heaven and on earth. His words, when preached and believed, have the power to save souls, enlighten darkened minds, heal broken hearts, and, open ears and eyes to the truth. He triumphed over Satan with the power of His words. Where God’s word is, God is there. We are victorious because God’s words are with us. They are our weapon against all temptations.
