The Spirit is God’s guarantee that he will give us everything he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. This is just one more reason for us to praise our glorious God. (Ephesians 1:14 NLT)
Christ Jesus has redeemed us from our sins. He paid the price with His blood. How sure are we that we are covered by His blood and are now redeemed from the penalty of our sins? The assurance or the guarantee is the presence of His Spirit in us. It is the same as having paid an earnest spirit or first payment to a purchase. The earnest payment already assures that the purchase has been consummated. Christ already owns us. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. If we have this fruit of the Spirit, then we are the chosen ones. These are the influences of the Spirit to those who are saved. It is a window of hope that we shall be given the full blessings of eternal inheritance in heaven. Repent and be baptized! It is the most important decision you can make in your life because it has eternal ramification. Why don’t you praise God today for His saving grace?
