You shall not tempt the LORD your God. (Matthew 4:7 NKJV)

God does not tempt us to sin rather, tests us to prove our faith then strengthen it afterwards. Abraham was tested for his faith and passed. He became God’s friend and was honored with an everlasting covenant. Job was another one who was tested for his faith. God allowed Satan to tempt Job. He passed the test. Christ was tempted/tested by Satan too and passed. The tests on Christ were meant for us, to teach us how to overcome Satan’s traps. God tests us to strengthen us whereas Satan tempts us to make us fall into sins. God should not be tempted. We should not lure Him to anger. That was what happened to Israel who wandered in the desert for 40 years because they did not trust God. Ananias and Sapphira tested God by not giving the full amount of what they had previously promised to give God. They were punished and died. There is one time when God said we can test Him. That is in the giving of tithes. He says, if we give the full amount of the tenth of what we receive from Him, we shall be given abundant and immeasurable blessings. We should not test God with sins, but we can test Him with trust. The challenge is: test God by trusting Him. See if He will not give you great blessings! Give your tithes and be blessed!
