But the Lord stood at my side and gave me strength, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. And I was delivered from the lion’s mouth. (2Timothy 4:17 NIV)
Whenever the Lord calls us to serve, we are sure that He will provide us all that we need in order to fulfill His given tasks. Not only that, He will surely guide and give us the power to accomplish the tasks. As members of His body, the Most Holy Church, we are given different gifts according to His design. Just as the body has different parts and capacity to perform their respective functions, so are we in the body of Christ. We have different functions but with one mind, one faith, one purpose, and one hope. The Church has the mind or spirit of Jesus Christ as He is the head. The Faith we have is Holy and perfect because we hear only the Sacred Truth. Our works are coordinated. One complements the other and unites with the perfect bond of love towards one purpose: glorifying God. Finally, we have a united hope of gratifying God whom we serve. Our mission is to proclaim the Glory of the Lord, through the preaching of the Gospel, and make disciples of all men. We may be humiliated, persecuted, and may even suffer in the hands of those who do not believe, but we know that God is near, to help us until the mission is accomplished.
