“The hand of our God is favorably disposed to all those who seek Him, but His power and His anger are against all those who forsake Him.” (Ezra 8:22 NAS77)
We have great confidence in the power of the almighty God to save and protect us. We are certain that God loves us, that we can take refuge under the shadow of His wings as a mother fowl gathers her offspring under her wings. When we truly trust that He can save us, we can submit ourselves to Him and follow His instructions. He will not ignore us nor shoo us away. Instead, with open arms, He will keep us and embrace us with His steadfast love. For as long as we are in Him, we are safe. But if we separate ourselves from Him and desert Him for another god, then He will raise his mighty hands against us. The caring hands will become hard to bring punishment for our transgression and disobedience. The greatest sin we can commit against God is to not regard Him as God and replace Him with mere idols. Be faithful to God as He is always faithful to us.
