Christ sacrificed his life’s blood to set us free, which means that our sins are now forgiven. Christ did this because God was so kind to us. God has great wisdom and understanding. (Ephesians 1:7 CEV)
Yearly, the Chief Priest offers sacrifice or bloody offering so that Israel and His’ sins be washed away. He gets two goats – one to be killed and sacrificed and the other becomes a scapegoat that bears the sins of Israel, sent away to the wilderness. The Priest does this yearly – proving that it is able to perfectly wash away the sins. This was just a shadow of what Christ will do. Christ is the Chief Priest, offering Himself as an eternal sacrifice for the complete forgiveness of our sins. He also became the scapegoat who bore our sins on the cross and our sins were completely blotted out. Christ did all this for you and me! Won’t you remember what He did for you? We do not deserve His mercy but He gave it willingly because He loves you and me. What a great love God has for us! Let us unite in a prayer of thanksgiving. How do we amply remember Him? Partake of His body and His Covenant blood. Live His life. Obey God in all humility until the end.
