Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ. Philippians 3:8 NKJV
A poor man rejoices for the fortune he has found. He has discovered a goldmine which will supply his needs for a lifetime. He puts away his old rubbish clothes, left his old miserable lifestyle, puts on new clothes and lives an affluent life. He invites everybody to celebrate with him for a new found life. He also shares his riches to his friends, neighbors and especially to his loved ones for everyone to enjoy.This is the same with our new life in Christ. We shed off our old rubbish self of material lifestyle and the false joy in material things. We put on a new expensive wardrobe fit for the rich and the famous in the Kingdom of God, the white robe of holiness. We have found the great riches in heaven which will give us joy for all eternity. We lose our old self and sacrifice to live a righteous, godly life. But there is no regret! We lose to gain. We found the excellent knowledge of Christ. Having known Christ, we have everything, which are true and lasting. He supplies us all that we need not only in our material needs, but most importantly, our spiritual needs. He gives us genuine joy to share with our friends, neighbors and loved ones. Which one is more important to you, the body or the soul? The world or the heavens? The dusts of the earth or the Gold Dusts of godliness? You and I are so blessed to win Christ. Let us not be selfish. Let us share the excellence of the knowledge of Christ to others. Let us share His Words to the world!
