And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Philippians 2:8 NKJV
Looking at the mirror, try to move to your left and you will note that you end up moving to your right. Move forward and you will not gain a distance. Everything is inverted or in the reverse. The same way is with our Christian life. The way up is to go down. To receive is to give. To live is to die. To be blessed is to be a blessing to others. To be loved is to love. To become great is to serve. To be a leader is to be humble.Jesus Christ our Lord is the example of this principle. He is the Most High God whose abode is in the highest place in heaven. He decided in His sovereign will to save us in an excellent way. He came down to earth. He showed himself as an ordinary man, not a king nor any known man but a carpenter. He emptied himself and went to become sin, although He is the Holy one. He went through the hardest and most difficult troubles and death which no man has experienced. If you consider His eternal glory and supreme holiness, and compare it to what He was humiliated, and he being sin to redeem us, you will somehow get an idea of how much His sacrifices were for us to be saved. That is how much He loved us, to go through the deepest depths of humility from His supreme glory in the highest heaven. Jesus teaches us to not think as the world. The world wants to go up the ladder to reach the top. It will not work. The way is to go down the ladder to reach the top. Let us practice what we learn in dealing with each other, let us be humble and let us put others first before us. Remember to be first be the last. Serve to be great just like Jesus Christ our Lord.
