Let Us Pray No. 331

or no sooner has the sun risen with a burning heat than it withers the grass; its flower falls, and its beautiful appearance perishes. So the rich man also will fade away in his pursuits. (James 1:11)

Abba, God Most High, the Ruler of all, You are the owner of all things and the one who bless us abundantly. All our possessions and wealth in this life are from You. You are the only one worthy of our thanks every time we see our needs sufficed. May we always keep in our hearts and minds that the blessings You abound us are always sufficient—enough for us to live and serve Your name. May You never see us desiring for huge wealth because it may lead us to damnation. Moreover, may You never see us placing our hope in the riches of this world, which will fade and be consumed. Even if we suffer from poverty in this life, may we always put our hopes and trust only in You. No matter what situation we may be in life, may we remain rich in good works where You called each and every one of us. This is our prayer and we believe we shall receive by the name Christ Jesus, our only God. Amen.
