Let Us Pray No. 201

  • July 20, 2021

“Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.” (Romans 12:14)

Abba, dear Father, every day we are in battle against our spiritual enemies whose objective is for us to lose trust in you. They even use other persons to hurt us that we may react to avenge ourselves from them. However, this morning, we pray for them that did us wrong no matter how minor they may seem. We forgive them from our hearts that we may firstly free ourselves from the resentment that may grow inside of us if we keep them in our hearts. Lord, it is us who are in bondage of anger and bitterness if we do not let go of these feelings against them. It is not them who are in bondage if we do not forgive them. They may not know that they hurt us. They may feel they have done the right thing and they go freely while we, who keep our grudges, continue to suffer. Thank you for your agape which taught us to forgive and forget. However, we pray for them that they may find in their heart the light of your words so that they may be able to repent and mend their ways. We pray that you bless them and shower them with your love for we know that the power of your love leads sinners to repentance. Father, may we be able to overcome the evil done by others by doing the right things when they have done the wrong things against us. May we take these opportunities to practice what you have taught us, which is to love even our enemies. Amen.
