Happy are those who are merciful to others; God will be merciful to them! (Matthew 5:7 GNB)
We do something because it is the right thing to do and not because of any reward. If we are righteous, God is pleased because we honor Him. To encourage us to continue doing good, God generously blesses us. One example is when we are merciful to others. We feel for those who are in need, afflicted and going through difficult times. It is a Christian character that makes us help others. Just like Jesus who came to heal the sick, liberate the captives and bring good tidings to all. He proclaimed the establishment of His Kingdom on earth. He proclaimed the Gospel of salvation. Find in your heart compassion for the lost souls. Let us bring them to Christ and to His Kingdom. Brethren, let us unite to proclaim the Gospel of Christ so that He be the King who sits on the throne in the hearts of men and we be citizens of His kingdom on earth, which is His beloved Church. If you will be merciful, God will be merciful to you.
