“Do not say, “I’ll pay you back for this wrong!” Wait for the LORD, and he will deliver you.” Proverbs 20:22 NIV

Revenge will both knock down the offender and the offended. When induced by the spirit of vengeance, the offended party will be imprisoned to enmity, fury and hatred. It is not true that if the offended never grant forgiveness, the offender will be in torment and torture of the mind and conscience. The truth is he/she that never forgives and forgets will be the one in bondage of grudge and resentment. We cannot extinguish fire by fire. Nowadays, many are urged to get back at people for any wrong they do us. As a matter of fact, we may be considered weak if we do not pay them back for their wrongdoings. God’s way is not our ways. Jesus Christ taught, preached and provided perfect and complete example of Agape love towards sinners like us. He loved us when we were sinners. He said, “But I tell you to love your enemies and pray for anyone who mistreats you.”  Let us love as Jesus loves. Let us forgiver as He forgives us.
