Bondservants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh, not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but in sincerity of heart, fearing God. And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men. (Colossians 3:22-23 NKJV)

A bondservant is a slave. We are bondservants of Christ. We are committed to serve Christ as our Master. Jesus is Lord to us. He owns us. We have no choice but to follow Him. When He says, go out to the world and make disciples of all nations, we go hastily, without second thought. When He says be the light of the world and salt of the earth, we do as instructed. We do everything for Jesus! Though we are His servants, we follow Him voluntarily, with a happy and sincere heart. We obey Him heartily. We submit our souls to Him completely. We renounce other masters and commit ourselves to serve only Him until our death. To be a Servant of Christ is a great honor. Serving the King of kings, the God Almighty, the Creator of the world, is no ordinary calling. There is also one great reality we should know. We are also His children, heir of the glorious riches of His Kingdom. As children serve and honor their earthly father, the more we should serve and honor our heavenly Father. Christ set the example for us to follow. When He was baptized, God said, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” He was obedient to the end. Brothers and sisters in Christ, let us strive to please the Lord. There is nothing sweeter to hear than this words of Christ when He returns, “Well done, good and faithful servant, you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter the joy of your Lord.”
