Offer the sacrifices of righteousness,
And put your trust in the Lord. (Psalms 4:5 NKJV)

There are two things we must do as commanded by the Lord in our daily walk. We have to offer sacrifices of righteousness and trust in Him. Offering sacrifices of righteousness means doing the best we can to follow and obey the commands of God, though they may result in our self-denial, sorrows and pain; and offering what we do have with the right motivation of pleasing and gratifying the Lord, with our best sacrifices of thanksgiving. Though there is nothing that we can offer God, which will somehow, even a bit, equal His kindness and blessings – we are still commanded to offer with utmost humility as evidence of our gratitude. Having offered our sacrifices in righteous deeds and in the things we give in return for His kindness, we have to trust that He will accept and be pleased, considering them as meritorious. Righteousness comes from a genuine love for the Lord, prompting us to do His will. “Happy are those who live upright”, says the Lord for His house shall be blessed. Blessed are those who give cheerfully for they will be rewarded more than what they have given.
