Then Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold.”And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham. (Luke 19:8-9 NKJV)
Our God is a very forgiving God. He is not hard to please. He acknowledges even the tiniest effort we do for Him. We experienced His divine mercy when He called us and made us part of His spiritual body. He justified and sanctified us because we believed in Him. The immeasurable mercies of God are due to His agape love. God loved us so much that He brought forgiveness and salvation upon us, even though none of us are worthy. God had us experience His forgiveness so that we may learn to forgive those who sinned against us. We, sometimes, tend to think high of ourselves when we do not forgive our transgressors. We think that we are imprisoning them by not forgiving them, but the truth is that we are imprisoning ourselves with our hatred. I assure you, the moment you let your anger go, you will experience the freedom that gives you peace. Even if there is but a tiny effort to ask forgiveness, let us always be willing to forgive.
