Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. (Hebrews 12:3 NIV)
How significant is your soul’s salvation for you? Whenever you ponder on the sacrifices of Christ, how do you feel about it? Some may say, “Oh, it is easy for Him since He is God! He is the Almighty. That is a piece of cake for Him.” To thoroughly think about it, let us first ask, “Who did He do it for?” He did it for us, sinners. The Lord Christ Jesus sacrificed Himself for us, who are unworthy of His hardships. He is the God Most High. He bothered to step down from His high throne to save us, undeserving of salvation. He manifested Himself in the flesh and took the humble position of a slave. He remained humble and obedient until His death on the cross, again, for the sake of the salvation of us who are unworthy of it. Now let me ask you this, how many times in your life did you find it easy to swallow your pride and be humble? How many times did you forget your status and serve those who are below you? The God Most High, the Almighty One, the Creator of Heaven and Earth, humbled Himself to save you from your sins. Was it an easy task for Him, you think? Now, if these make sense to you, you will never let even a single second of your life waste the sacrifice our good Lord has done for you.
