I have not departed from the commandment of His lips;
I have treasured the words of His mouth
More than my necessary food. (Job 23:12 NKJV)
One of the things that give people excitement is food. We know how excited we are every time we can smell the aroma of what’s cooking in the kitchen. Just knowing you will have your favorite food for dinner makes you wish the morning be quickly turned into evening, so you can munch on that fried chicken. It makes us really happy if we know that there is always food to eat whenever we grow hungry. As Christians, our food is to do the will of God and finish His work. The question is do you get excited when God gives you orders? Do you crave to hear His words? Have you ever felt like you cannot wait for the next Sunday’s worship service? Do you feel adrenaline whenever you are invited to join missionary activities? To be a servant of God, we have to long to perform the will of God. We should find our satisfaction in life in doing our Christian duties rather than anything in this world. Just like after a long tiring day, when you can’t wait to reach home to munch on a savory dinner, we should be eager in doing His will that gives us peace in the midst of this troubled world.
