For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your bondservants for Jesus’ sake. (2 Corinthians 4:5 NKJV)
When the Lord Christ Jesus manifested himself in the flesh here on earth, He took the humble position of a slave. One of the examples He left us is how to be of service to others. That is why when He came on earth, He did not cling to His rights as God. He chose a low position to teach us what perspective in life we should have as His disciples – Christians. If you are a Christian, you cannot be so entitled and self-righteous. We cannot go around and announce to everyone the good things we have done and the good qualities we possess. Instead, our life should be a testimony of the immeasurable kindness of God. Instead of bragging to someone how good you are at doing something, why not tell everyone how proud we are of God? For the sake of the proclamation of God’s glory to all the nations, let us do our best to let people know His greatness every time we talk. If you achieved something great, boast of how God helped you through all the difficulties to attain it. As servants of God, our duty is to bring glory upon His name. So, every time someone praises us, let us always say, “Praise the Lord!” By this, we are being of service to our fellow by letting them know and want to feel the greatness of God’s love.
