Let Us Pray No. 33

  • February 2, 2017

“Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.” Colossians 3:5

Abba, merciful God. I come to you today begging for your benediction concerning the welfare of your beloved children. I pray for them because we are all needful of your spiritual guidance. We are keenly aware that the day you set us apart from the pollution of this sinful world is the same day our spiritual battle has begun. Satan and his cohorts are determined to take us down as your children. The evil nature of the old self we already put off may perhaps revert to anyone of us if we get contaminated and be overpowered by sin again. We cannot live in sin and be holy because sin is the major obstacle to holiness. Bless us the mind which is like you, Lord. May we be able to live in spirit and not of the flesh to refrain from doing sin.  May we be able to deny ourselves and when necessary, punish our own body to discipline it to abide by your commands and live holy in your sight. We desire for you to dwell in our hearts, and sit in the throne of our soul that we may do your will and be truly free from sin. Lord, we pray that you give us a pure heart and fresh spirit to do as you wish. Our confidence is in you. We depend on your support and provision to face the challenges which lies ahead. Be with us especially at times when the fight between the flesh and spirit is getting harder. Father, may your will be done in my life. Amen.
