Abba, dear Father, you have given us another day to live, and we praise you for you alone is the source of life. We ask for your guidance and protection as we embark in today’s journey. The world we live in is full of temptations. Everywhere we go the world pulls us to commit sin. The snares of Satan are all around us. They lure us to walk foolishly in carnal pleasures which in the end result to failures, loneliness, unrest and destruction not only of our body but of our soul as well. Lord, as your children, you taught us to be wise. You have given us the spirit of discernment to see and understand how we can overcome all temptations. You know how we feel when we encounter sin every day. We cannot bear to see them and would want to escape. We cannot go anywhere but in your presence. We need not worry because we have your words that light up our path. Help us to be strong against all these temptations. Guide us to walk carefully, cautiously that we may obey you. Let us walk according to the gift of faith and love for you and for our fellowmen. Help us to live in peace even in the presence of those who oppose us. May we see you, and receive your blessings throughout the day. And tonight, Lord, may we rest in your love and protection, giving thanks and glory to your name. Amen.
