Let Us Pray No. 206

  • July 25, 2017

“When you make a vow to God, do not delay to pay it; for He has no pleasure in fools. Pay what you have vowed.” Ecclesiastes 5:4

Abba, Father, we have made promises in your name. We promised to love you with all our hearts, minds, soul and strength. We promised to attend worship services along with other believers. We promised to give tithes to you. We pledge to offer Minhah or gift to your Church. We promised certain things to you and vowed that when our requests are fulfilled, we shall fulfill and pay our vows without hesitation. Lord, you are God, we cannot hide from you. You take our words as sacred for we have declared our vows in your presence with the hope that you can make our request come to pass. You have no pleasure in fools who declare that you do not exist, that there is no God. When we fail to pay our vows, we also deny your existence, that you are not God who can punish the ungodly. Lord, we ask you to put in our hearts the desire and the will the things we can certainly swear in your name that when fulfilled will give glory to your name. Let us strengthen our faith that when we pledge something in your name, you will help us in fulfilling them for your glory is at stake. But we first have to believe that you will help us. When we believe, let our whole being do our part in fulfilling it for your namesake. Lord, when we are not able to fulfill fully our vows, please forgive us. Give us the opportunity to do better that we may be able to glorify you with our vows which show your miraculous power. Amen
