Let Us Pray No. 173

  • June 22, 2017

“And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.” Romans 6:18

Abba, Father, you are the Lord of your house. Your house is our bodies where you dwell since you called us and has forgiven us our iniquities and made us holy. You justified us and continuously sanctify us with your words of truth. Thus, we were freed from sin. Sin manifested itself in us when we obeyed the desires of our flesh, our mortal bodies. Sin deceived our mortal bodies to desire the pleasures of the flesh. Because you already freed us from sin through your election and justification, we no longer obey our flesh. We now desire to obey your words of truth which secure our freedom from sin. Lord your words give us the wisdom to live righteously. We desire to obey your words of truth more than the lies of deception. We desire you more than sin. Lord, we pray, to put in our hearts the desire to long to hear your Words of truth, to meditate on them day and night so that we may obey them. Let us be slaves to righteousness which in reality is the liberty that we enjoy for a lifetime of satisfaction in serving you and which will bring us to life of eternal joy in your presence in your second advent. Amen.
