“O LORD our God, all this abundance that we have prepared to build You a house for Your holy name is from Your hand, and is all Your own.” 1 Chronicles 29:16
Abba, Lord our God, we earnestly desire to offer you an acceptable service for you are worthy to be praised and to be worshipped as the only one true God and Savior of our souls. But Lord, what can we give you that are not from you? Even our own lives would surely be inadequate in exchange to your great acts of Agape. When we look down over ourselves towards your greatness and glory, we find ourselves wanting to give you the utmost we can for your glory. We invite you Lord, please come in to our lives and let us live with you so we, all of us, individually and as a church may stand before you as a holy temple where your spirit dwells. Then, we can serve you in a way that pleases you and not for anyone else nor even for ourselves. There is one more thing we ask of you, Lord, may it be our desire and comfort to zealously work together for the establishment of your kingdom and not be comforted by dwelling in our paneled houses. Create in us a heroic heart to volunteer ourselves and become co-workers of your Church’s vision and mission rather than just being witnesses of its fulfillment. Lord, put your zeal into our hearts. Amen.
