Remember, it is better to suffer for doing good, if that is what God wants, than to suffer for doing wrong! (1 Peter 3:17 NLT)
Do not put Christ back on the cross and put Him to shame because of your wrong doings. That is in effect what we do if after He sacrificed to purify us, we again live sinful lives. We also taint the name of the Most Holy Church which Christ wants to be without blemish. We should give glory to Christ our Lord and honor to the Church by living a truly Christian life of holiness. Be happy in the face of persecution because of our faith. We are called not only to be saved but also to suffer with Christ. It is our hope that even if we suffer and die in keeping the faith, we shall live with Christ for eternity rather than lead a sinful life and be happy now but suffer in hell for eternity.
