I have fought well. I have finished the race, and I have been faithful. So a crown will be given to me for pleasing the Lord. He judges fairly, and on the Day of Judgment he will give a crown to me and to everyone else who wants him to appear with power. (2 Timothy 4:7-8 CEV)
No pain, no gain! No guts, no glory! When applied to our spiritual battle, it means we need to sacrifice to gain Christ. We should be willing to give everything and do anything for the glory of God. We should empty ourselves of selfishness, pride and sins so that the Holy Spirit may fill us. The Spirit will teach us what to do and say, strengthen and comfort us so that we can continue and finish the fight. In the end, we shall be rewarded as champions of faith and worthy to be given the Crown of righteousness.
