By long forbearance a ruler is persuaded, And a gentle tongue breaks a bone. (Proverbs 25:15)
Abba, our Father and King, You are our Father whose loving-kindness is everlasting. You justified and called us to preach the gospel. You chose us to be an instrument to save mankind. We received this chance when we listened and believed in Your words. You did not force us to follow You. What encouraged us is Your gentleness and compassion. As Your servants, we aspire to be an effective means of proclaiming Your righteousness. Every time we do it, may You guard our lips. Whatever the status in life of our fellowmen, may we speak graciously. May we avoid arguing with our fellowmen outside the Church. Provide us the spirit and words that can bring our listeners to You without forcing them but through proclaiming Your loving-kindness. May we proclaim Your words of salvation courageously to anyone because You called us to this ministry. We thank You for entrusting and guiding us to give glory to Your name, our God, Christ Jesus. Amen.
